AVIAN EVOLUTION

There was a saga of
A long evolution
Behind the person
I came across
A hunter of birds
In his youth,
He slowly became
A bird grabber
For the pet-loving
Urban aristocracy,
Then, he said,
He became
A bird flier
Who would spend
His mornings
Catching parrots,
Herons, sparrows,
And his evenings
Setting them free
To see their joyful escape
From the cage

In the last stage of
His change of heart,
As I saw him,
He turned into
A bird watcher
After hearing
A white-bearded
Ornithologist
