DETERMINISM

Writing life
In a few sentences
Seems too difficult…
The problem is that of
Lending suitable modifiers
To its multiple faces
And proliferating names

THE BUCKET AND THE STATUS QUO

We’ve got
A noisy bucket
In our house
That looks genuinely indifferent to
Tranquility

Sometimes to one of us,
Sometimes to the walls,
The doors,
The windows,
And sometimes to itself,
It seems to be talking
All the while,
But when water falls into
Its lap
Unsettling, jolting and shaking it up
With pace and force,
The old bucket screams
Unstoppably

To save our
Fragile patience and
Maintain peace at home,
I’ve tried to dump it many times,
Somewhere away from
Our small world,
But whenever I try to take it away,
It cries and cries and cries
Making it so heavy with tears
That I end up leaving it
Where it is…

‘CINNA’- NYMY

His anonymous killers
Didn’t know whether
He wrote good verses or
Bad ones,
But the poor poet
Bore a conspirator’s name
And just for that crime,
He had to lose his life
Falling prey to
A blind demagogic knife…

GET SET FOR THE GO

DON’TS’ will melt
And ‘DOs’ will
Blunt,
Once you
Get set for the hunt,
Once your weapons
Get ignited
In the stables of
Tamed anger,
All the taunts will
Stunt,
Iron curtains will
Turn into
Innocuous ruse,
Once you glaze
Your blues
With your
Restive grunt,
Go-getters,
Go!
The twilight is
Turning bright,
Throbbing with
A gush of
Fresh hopes,
The tunnel
Impermeable thus far
Has become
Its own light…!

SUBORDINATION

A reticent stallion
With a robust backbone,
Conversant with
The curves and cliffs of
Taxing expeditions,
Always drew in
The best bet …
One could opt for it
Without too much of
Brainstorming
And……….
Without causing
Too many ripples or
Destabilizing Shake-ups
In the resource pool
At one's disposal

THE ULTIMATE CHRONICLER

Differences dilute,
Disparities converge
When death becomes
The chronicler of
Unforeseen exits
Creating its own
Hallams, Lycidases
And Cymbelines
For our dirge

Legendary Sen!
Gorgeous Pushkar….!
Your departure
Only tells me
I may also
Become a victim of
The same
Lethal ploy
Perhaps without
An inkling of
Its modus operandi

GHOST WRITER

Some ghosts
Can also write,
Sometimes
In a better way,
But their writings
Bear the names of
Those people
Who give them
Land to live on
Because
Ghosts themselves
Have no names

EXPEDITION

Under the overarching wings of
Political correctness,
Faith
Has lost its eyes

Minds,
Funded by
New tycoons of
The grand political corporate,
Have set out
To explore
Effective theological herbs
To restore its vision

HYPOSTATISATION

Causes
Nurtured in
Dried up complaints
Lack credible sharpness
And get lost in
Translation

The world chooses
To melt for
Eyes
Loaded with tears
Because
They are visible

PSITTACISM

For our catechistic awakening,
As we were told,
He would utter
Some words
And we would
Repeat
The same aloud
With a breathless
Rhythmical discipline

Gradually,
We could only remember
What he said
And what we repeated

In the museum of
Historical learning,
We are now
Artefacts
Being showcased
To tell the world about
The uniqueness of a craft
That could turn
Wild parrots into
Human beings
